Hydrophilic porous monoliths based on acrylamide and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate crosslinked with N,N'-methylene bisacrylamide were obtained by free radical polymerization of the continuous phase of oil-in-water high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs). The influence of solvent addition on emulsion stability and polymer morphology (surface area, porosity, pore size) was investigated.
