The aim of our research was to investigate the suitability of natural materials and their applicability in the production of painting paints; to make painting powder and binding with natural binders in order to achieve the least possible interference with artificial painting materials and thus make painting as ecological as possible.
In the theoretical part we researched the history, the development of pigments. We were interested in the materials from which the pigments were produced, how they were processed and what shades they obtained. Of course, binders also have their own history and use. The historical overview dates back to the 20th century, when synthetic, artificial colors appeared.
In the practical part, we tested ourselves in the production and processing of pigments and paints. We investigated the mixing ratios, suitability of pigments and binders. I presented my research to a sixth-grade student at an art workshop, where she learned about the process of making pigments, paints and painting with them.
