Abstract
V uvodu so razložene osnove seizmologije in nihanja struktur, predstavljena z gibalno enačbo, katere rešitev so dinamski odzivi, pridobljeni z numerično integracijo.

Title:
Dynamic responce of multi-storey building during earth quake
Abstract:
This thesis discusses the dynamic response of a multi-storey building during an earthquake. When a sudden movement of the ground occurs, buildings start to oscillate, which can cause their collapse, so vibration damping systems such as tuned mass dampers are added to them. This knowledge can help us prevent the dangerous consequences of earthquakes. The introduction of the thesis explains the basics of seismology and oscillations of structures. These are represented by the equation of motion, the solution of which is the dynamic response obtained by numerical integration. The methodology part of the thesis starts by validating the numerical integration in the programming language Python for sinusoidal excitation of the ground and then apply the results on the real seismic data. Responses are evaluated on the multi-storey building by adding a tuned mass damper with different input parameters. The final results show the effectiveness of adding a tuned mass damper only when the parameters are chosen correctly, because incorrectly selected characteristics can also increase the response.
