Abstract
Zaključna seminarska naloga skuša prikazati, kako so naravnogeografski dejavniki vplivali na zgodovinsko poselitev Kočevskih Nemcev v Kočevskem rogu. Kočevski rog je kraško območje na Dolenjskem. Zaradi kraškega površja razen nekaterih izjem tam ni površinskih vodotokov in površinskih stoječih vodnih virov. V zaključni seminarski nalogi so natančneje opisane naravnogeografske značilnosti Kočevskega roga in zgodovina Kočevskih Nemcev.

Title:The influence of natural geographic factors on the historical settlement of the Kočevje horn
Abstract:
The thesis attempts to show how natural geographic factors influenced the historical settlement of the Kočevje Germans in the Kočevje horn. The Kočevje horn is a karst area in Dolenjska. Due to the karst surface, there are, with a few exceptions, no surface watercourses and no surface standing water sources. Pedologically, most of the Kočevje horn is covered by brown post-carbonate soils, which are not the most suitable for agriculture. Climatologically, the Kočevje horn has high rainfall and relatively low average annual temperatures. The natural-geographical factors are therefore rather unfavourable for life. However, in the 13th century, German immigrants settled in Kočevje horn. The reason for immigration was economic, as the feudal lords wanted to extract more than just forest from the area. The thesis describes in more detail the natural-geographical features of the Kočevje horn and the history of the Kočevje Germans. These two elements are the basis for answering why the settlements were established in this particular location. Which natural geographic factors influenced this and how they influenced it.
