Population aging is a common occurrence in developed countries, in Slovenia as well. There is an increase in elderly people, who, as a special group of the population, have specific characteristics. We have to be aware of them when preparing development documentation on a country-wide or local level and in institutions. For this reason, libraries have a wide array of guidelines for services to the elderly. In this thesis, we took a closer look at the services the Celje Public Library offers to its elderly users and held a survey amongst the members of one of these services, the University for the third life period, in which we wished to know their satisfaction with the offered services, if they know of all of them, how often they use them and if they have any suggestions for new ones. During the overview and description of the services we also took into consideration the hampered execution of some of the services because of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which the Celje Public Library was completely closed for some time and closed to the users for another period. The results of the survey show that the University for the third life period and the reading badge for adults With reading to the stars are best off amongst the services, while more interest needs to be encouraged for the materials for the blind and visually-impaired and the program Library on a visit.
