Abstract
Uvod: Prevalenca prekomerne telesne mase in debelosti narašča. Stanji sta pogostejši pri ženskah. Za zmanjšanje le-teh poznamo različne načine zdravljenja, med katere sodi tudi vadba. Vadba Zumba je dinamična skupinska vadba, ki združuje osnovne elemente aerobike, enostavne plesne korake ter ritme latino glasbe. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je ugotoviti vpliv vadbe Zumba na povišan indeks telesne mase pri odrasli ženski populaciji s prekomerno telesno maso. Metode dela: V diplomskem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela. Literatura je bila iskana v podatkovnih zbirkah PEDro, PubMED, ResearchGate in SpringerLink. V pregled so bile vključene raziskave, ki so bile objavljene od leta 2010 do 2020 ter so vključevale ženske, stare od 18 do 64 let in so obiskovale vadbo Zumba. Rezultati: V pregled literature smo vključili šest raziskav, ki so ustrezale vključitvenim merilom. Vključene raziskave so preučevale vpliv vadbe Zumba na antropometrične meritve in telesno sestavo odraslih žensk s prekomerno telesno maso ali debelostjo. Slednje so trajale 8, 12 in 16 tednov. V vseh raziskavah so poročali o pozitivnih učinkih vadbe Zumba na ženske s prekomerno telesno maso ali debelostjo. Prišlo je do zmanjšanja telesne mase, indeksa telesne mase, obsega pasu, obsega bokov, razmerja med obsegom pasu in bokov ter deleža telesnih maščob. Razprava in zaključek: Ugotovili smo, da je vadba Zumba učinkovita oblika vadbe za izboljšanje antropometričnih vrednosti in telesne sestave pri odraslih ženskah s prekomerno telesno maso ali debelostjo. Vadba je pozitivno vplivala na izboljšanje vrednosti izvedenih meritev telesne sestave. Za boljše rezultate je priporočljivo k vadbi dodati zdravo prehrano. Dodatna prednost vadbe je druženje s sovadečimi in občutek socialne povezanosti. Zaradi njene priljubljenosti, predvsem med ženskami, bi jo lahko izvajali za pomoč pri preprečevanju prevalence prekomerne telesne mase in debelosti. V kolikor želimo, da je telesna dejavnost koristna za naše zdravje, mora biti le-ta redna in ustrezna.

Title:Effects of Zumba exercise on high body mass index of adult women - literature review : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: The prevalence of overweight and obesity is increasing. Both of these conditions are more common in women. Various treatments are known for reducing these conditions, including exercise. Zumba is a dynamic group exercise that combines the basic elements of aerobics, simple dance steps and rhythms of Latin music. Purpose: The purpose wat to determine the impact of Zumba on high body mass index in the adult overweight or obese female population. Methods: In the diploma work we used a descriptive method. The literature was searched for in the following databases: PEDro, PubMED, ResearchGate and SpringerLink. In our overview we included studies that were published from 2010 to 2020, thus including women aged 18 to 64 who attended Zumba. Results: According to inclusion criteria, we included six studies in our overview. The included studies researched the impact of Zumba on anthropometric measurement and body composition of adult overweight or obese women. Studies lasted 8, 12 and 16 weeks. Findings of the studies reported positive effects of Zumba on overweight or obese women. Studies showed decrease in body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, hip circumfernce, waist-to-hip ration and body fat percentage. Discussion and conclusion: The results of the studies show that Zumba is an effective form of exercise to improve anthropometric measurement and body composition in adult overweight or obese women. Zumba had a positive effect on improving the value of body composition measurements. For better results, it is advisable to add a healthy diet. An additional advantage of Zumba is socializing with co-workers and feelings of social connection. Due to its popularity, especially among women, it could be implemented to help prevent the prevalence of overweight and obesity. If we want physical activity to be beneficial for our health, it must be regular and appropriate.
