Abstract
Nato so preiskovanci opravili Y ravnotežni test, in sicer v skladu s standardiziranim protokolom.

Title:Performance of the lower quarter Y balance test in healthy adolescents from age 8 to 12 : master thesis
Abstract:
Introduction: Maitaining balance during movement is called dynamic balance; it is the act of maintaining, achieving or restoring a state of balance during movement. In children the neuromuscular system is still developing. Several balance test are known for assessing dynamic balance, including Y balance test. Y balance test is objective, valid and reliable test of dynamic balance and can be used for diagnostics or in a rehabilitation. Purpose: Purpose of the master thesis is to investigate dynamic balance in children between 8 and 12 years old and to investigate the effects of selected anthropometric characteristics, sex, lower limb's length and dominance on Y balance test. Methods: 84 healthy children performed Y balance test. Body mass and height were measured and body mass index calculates. Leg dominance was determined by asking the favourite foot to kick a ball. The raw and normalized reach distances were recorded, following standard protocol. Results: 48 girls and 36 boys performed Y balance test. The average BMI was 18,12. The average reach distances between left and right leg were less than 1 cm. The average composite score for reaching with left leg was 91,83 (SD = 10,88), average composite score for reaching with right leg was 91,45 (SD = 11,81). The average difference in composite score between left and right leg was 0,39 %. 10-year old children performed with best resoults in all three directions. Boys had better raw reach distance results, but when we normalized scores, no differences were found between boys and girls. Discussion and conclusion: Anthropometric characteristics, sex, lower limb length and dominance did not influenced the Y balance test measures. In the future, bigger sample of children should be involved in the study and also younger and older children should be involved.
