The diploma thesis presents the design, implementation and measurements of driver circuit board incorporating Si8271 IC driver elements in a multilevel active neutral point clamped inverter circuit.
First, a comparison of multilevel topologies is provided, followed by presentation of some main aspects of driver circuits suitability for control of semiconductor elements.
The main part of the diploma thesis is focused on the design and development of an experimental printed circuit board (PCB) of a single-phase three-level ANPC inverter. The PCB is mainly intended for suitability assessment of the selected driver circuits with optical isolation for control of MOSFETs.
Finally, measurement results of typical driver and MOSFET characteristics are provided. Results demonstrate suitability of the selected driver elements, as they exhibit excellent dynamics and reliable galvanic isolation of control signals. Replacement of formerly used two-channel driver elements with new, faster, single-channel driver elements seems reasonable and effective.
