Abstract

Title:Utilization of bio composting plants for biomethane production
Abstract:
This paper is focused on the analysis of bio composting plants. Research is made for the possibility of processing bio composting plants for biomethane production. Based on the analyis of the situation, research is focused on upgrading the system on the basis of dry digestion. The most useful technology used is KOMPOGAS system made by Hitachi Zosen INOVA. Besides biocompost, a renewable carbon source would be used in the form of biomethane when using dry digestion. Estimation was made that biogas is made from 60% of CH4 and 40% of CO2. The gases could be separated via membrane technology. CO2 can be led to biological or catalytic methanation with renewable H2 to obtain biomethane.

Keywords:biomethane, biogas, bio compost plant, dry anaerobic digestion (dry AD)
