Abstract
V diplomski nalogi sem preučila polimerne materiale, s katerimi se srečamo vsak dan, njihovo recikliranje in njihov vpliv na okolje. Plastika se deli na tri glavne skupine: plastomere, elastomere in termosete. Zaradi kemijskih lastnosti lahko večino plastomerov recikliramo, medtem ko elastomere in termosete težje. Ker potreba po plastiki narašča iz leta v leto, se bomo morali začeti zavedati tudi njenega vpliva na okolje. Plastični odpadki so praktično že vsepovsod in so problematika tako za rastline, živali in ljudi. Niso problematični le plastični odpadki, ki jih s prostim očesom vidimo, vendar tudi mikroplastika, ki jo lahko zaužijemo tudi z pitno vodo.

Title:Polymeric materials intended for mass consumption, their recycling and their impact on the environment
Abstract:
In my dissertation I studied the polymeric materials that we encounter every day, their recycling and their impact on the environment. Plastics are divided into three main groups: thermoplastic, elastomers and thermosets. Due to the chemical properties, most thermoplastics can be recycled, while elastomers and thermosets are more difficult for recycling. As the need for plastic grows from year to year, we will also need to become aware of its impact on the environment. Plastic waste is practically everywhere, and it is a problem for plants, animals and people. Not only plastic waste that we see with the naked eye is problematic, but also microplastic, which can also be consumed with drinking water.
