The thesis covers the process of generating, planning and implementing changes with the
goal of reducing production costs and ensuring the traceability of the flow of material in
the warehouse. The thesis depicts the inventory analysis and the analysis of the initial state
of the storage area, a review of the important literature in the field, with the goal of
selecting the most appropriate methods for the generation and evaluation of ideas, of which
the brainwritting method, and the pairwise comparison method proved to be the most
appropriate. Following was the phase of implementation and creation of models that served
as a method for carrying out changes in the storage facility. When selecting the appropriate
model, we took into account the spatial, financial and time constraints set before the start
of the project. The chosen model allows the choice between different technologies for the
traceability of the materials in the storage facility, of which we have chosen bar-code
labelling. The analysis of the improved state followed. We compared the results of the new
storage facility with the results of the original state. The comparison showed that the
implementation of the chosen model was economically justified. We have achieved shorter
times of material regulation and, consequently, lower storage costs and a more optimal
material flow in the production process.
