In my master's thesis, I deal with professional liability insurance. In general, this is regulated by the Code of Obligations. Furthermore, a more precise regulation is offered by numerous sectoral laws which are briefly presented in the chapter on the review of legislation. Professional liability insurance is important from the point of view that insurers are not liable for professional errors that occur in their work. Assuming the fact, they act with necessary due diligence required by each individual profession. The risk of damage claims by injured parties is assumed by insurance company. Amount, to which the insurance company is liable is determined in the insurance contract. I present this in detail in the chapter on professional liability insurance in general, where I also analyze all the legal relationships that arise, including the insurance contract and its components. Next, I discuss the regulation of professional liability insurance for following professions: lawyer, notary, bankruptcy manager and doctor. These professions are crucial for our society and for which compulsory professional liability insurance is required by law. Lastly, I present the regulation of professional liability insurance for members of management and supervisory organs, for which law does not prescribe professional liability insurance as compulsory. I included them in my master's thesis due to financial reasons, as compensation in these cases is often awarded in millions.
