Abstract
Diplomsko delo ‘Razvoj tekstilij za oblačila na podlagi zaznavanja ekscentričnega’ opisuje razvoj in realizacijo avtorske kolekcije vzorcev, tekstilij in oblačil z izhodiščem v oblačilni podobi in vedenjskih značilnostih ekscentričnih posameznikov.

Title:Textile development for clothing based on perception of the eccentric
Abstract:
This study ‘Textile Development for Clothing Based on Perceptions of the Eccentric’ explores the personal development of a collection, based on prints, textiles and garments inspired by the behaviour of eccentric individuals. The theoretical part is an exploration of an individual’s ability to stand out from the crowd. The first part of this study focuses on drawing connections with the term ‘eccentric’ as a human trait that is often pathologised. This study also examines the connections between eccentricity, creativity, the bizare and the genius. The Second part dives into historical examples of eccentric individuals, drawing connections to the present. These examples played a key role in the development of this batchelor’s thesis. The practical part of the thesis, shows the creative process of print and silhouette development. It demonstrates the realization from the intital inspiration to the final collection, that mixes contradictory artistic methods such as; manual - digital, contrast - harmony, tradicional - modern, male - female... The final result is a colorful and multidimensional collection based on the subjective understanding of the eccentric called ‘Isolated Gardens’. It borrows from the innovative approaches to fashion, drawing inspiration from Edie Bouvier and the fascination with exotic animals by Joe Exotic. Much like the ladies from the documentary film ‘Advanced Style’ refute the social norms of dressing up according to age, sex and cultural background, the collection invites the public to do the same and reminds us that even the most unusual behaviour can be perceived as positive.
