Abstract

Title:Experience and survive mobbing in the workplace
Abstract:
Mobbing has become an inevitable topic of our everyday life in conversations, newspapers, on TV and internet. It spreads like a virus that has come into every pore of our lives. The use of the term mobbing is consequence of Leymann’s association with the animal world. With the same term Konrad Lorenz in 1966 described the attack of a group of animals on an intruder. Endangerment of the group provokes an impulse of attacking and destroying the intruder. Mobbing has devastating consequences for whole society. It can lead to higher treatment costs and a greater need for social services and support, it affects the treatment costs, bigger need for social services and social support. In the theoretical part I describe the problem of mobbing and its consequences on employees and beyond, I also cite the results of multiple previous researches. In the empirical part I find out, how mobbing affects victims who are exposed to it, what impact mobbing has on family relationships, what are the reactions of people who experience mobbing and whether victims seek professional help and where. The purpose of my master's thesis is present to the public the issue of mobbing, how to react in a given situation and where to seek help.
