Abstract
Razprava in zaključek: Simptomi endometrioze pogosto vplivajo na psihološko in socialno delovanje ženske, bolezen močno vpliva na kakovost njenega življenja, socialne odnose, spolnost in duševno zdravje. Zato je potrebna celostna obravnava žensk z endometriozo.

Title:nursing care of women with endometriosis and the importance of hormonal therapy : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Endometriosis is a chronic disease in which tissue grows that does not normally form the inner layer of the uterus (endometrium), even outside the uterine cavity. This can also lead to serious health problems and infertility, but it can take place without obvious symptoms. The current treatment of endometriosis is mainly based on surgical procedures and suppressive drugs. Hormone therapy in endometriosis is an indication of a better quality of life of women after a surgical procedure to reduce pain and infertility problems. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to describe endometriosis, to present its incidence, symptoms, methods of diagnosis and treatment, and nursing of women. Methods: In the diploma work was used the descriptive method of work with a review of professional and scientific literature in the field of endometriosis and its treatment. To search for literature, we visited databases CINAHL, Medline, PubMed and COBIB.si databases. Searching for articles was limited by the year of publication of the articles from 2008 to 2020. Results: Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease. It is estimated that endometriosis affects about 10% of the female population. Endometriosis is a hormone-related disease, so in the treatment of endometriosis, which is always surgical, hormone therapy is introduced to help relieve pain, eliminate infertility and recurrence of endometriosis. In most cases, however, hormone therapy is successful in the new development of endometriosis and the elimination of pain and infertility. Discussion and conclusion: The symptoms of endometriosis often affect a woman's psychological and social functioning, the disease strongly affects her quality of life, social relationships, sexuality and mental health. Therefore, comprehensive treatment of women with endometriosis is required.
