Abstract

Title:The Influence of Employment Factors on Job Seekers When Choosing an Employer
Abstract:
Employer branding is a topical subject in various research fields. Using a MojeDelo.com survey, we wanted to establish how employment factors influence job seekers when choosing an employer. We wanted to identify the motivators that describe an individual’s desired work environment or job and play a crucial role when choosing an employer. The online survey was taken by 9046 participants and we used data from 5064 respondents who completed the survey in full. Our study cohort included 2166 men and 2898 women working in various fields. The cohort was further divided by age, education, and geographical region. We found that individuals with lower net salaries rated their work and employers less favourably on average. We also found differences in the average rating ascribed by the groups to the importance of specific work motivators and jobs. Education was ascribed different degrees of importance by each age group, and individuals with different levels of education ascribed different degrees of importance to job responsibilities, job performance, and financial incentives as work motivators. The importance of challenges and work dynamics were valued differently by individuals with different levels of education, as well as by employees from different geographical regions. We have concluded that there is a strong correlation between general satisfaction with one’s work environment and the average rating given to the employer. We also found a positive link between the work motivators of individual groups, and specific motivators in the workplace. Average degrees of correlation exist only between the average rating given to the importance of job responsibility and job performance, and between the average rating ascribed to the importance of leadership and relations within the company.
