The future of literary interpretation is closely connected with the reading of literature, since both are complex processes of giving meaning to a literary text, realised through different ways of reading or interpreting by the suitably equipped reader or interpreter. For interpreting the future, I propose a two-level structure of literary interpretation in which different processes - such as perceiving, experiencing, analysing, clarifying, explaining, evaluating and giving meaning to - interact, supplement and complete each other. What is important here is the connecting of the parts into a whole and with the whole. For complete literary interpretation, in addition to two levels and four elements (text, reader, co-text and purpose) it makes sense to divide interpretation in terms of types - lyric, epic and dramatic - as well as the phenomenon of discomfort in literature.
