The purpose of this thesis is the presentation and comparison of the properties of digital and applicator women's hygiene tampons, the comparison of tampon behaviour during stratification and the comparison of the two methods of stratification.
The theoretical part presents both types of tampons and the research published so far related to these two types of tampons.
The experimental part presents laboratory methods that are performed to test the properties of hygienic tampons: tampon mass, tampon dimensions (length, diameter), tampon stability, cord extraction, tampon absorption and tampon stratification (Tosama method, UL method). The comparison of the two methods to determine tampon stratification was also performed.
The chapter Result with the discussion presents the results of the measurements and discusses their meaning. Based on the measurements it was possible to track the changes in tampon properties in accordance with the changes in production conditions. Based on the obtained results it was established that the improvement in the manufacturing process was appropriate. It was also confirmed that the Tosama method is more appropriate to test tampon stratification than the UL method.
