Grafična priprava knjige poezij

Namen diplomske naloge je bil oblikovati in ustrezno izdelati graficˇno pripravo za tisk knjige poezij. V teoretičnem delu smo raziskali zgodovino pisanja poezij in ustvarjanja knjig, ki so bile izdelane pred 21. stoletjem kot tudi danes. Zanimalo nas predvsem, kako se po kronološkem zaporedju vizualno in vsebinsko razlikujejo knjige poezij na Slovenskem ter po svetu. V eksperimentalnem delu smo namensko izbrali knjige poezij, ki so bile opisane v teoretičnem delu, in jih primerjali med seboj, z namenom ugotovitve pomena posameznih elementov z analizo trga. Primerjali smo prve ponatise izbranih knjig poezij. Primerjava je bila razdeljena na dva sklopa. Prvi sklop je bil namenjen analizi naslovnice in drugi sklop analizi notranjosti knjig. V posameznem sklopu smo primerjali: število strani, vrsto vezave, podobo in elemente platnice ter notranjosti (uporaba barve in slog pisave), oblika knjige oz. formata, slikovno gradivo, jezik, v katerem je napisana knjiga. Druga metoda analize, ki je bila uporabljena v diplomski nalogi, je spletna anketa. Anketa vsebuje predloge za izdelavo naše knjige poezij. Prav tako je razdeljena na dva sklopa (ocena notranjosti knjige in naslovnice). Predloge so narejene z namenom, da bi nam ciljna skupina anketirancev pomagala pri oblikovanju vizualne podobe knjige, ki je bila cilj diplomske naloge. Oblikovali in izdelali smo grafično pripravo knjige poezij, z naslovom »Iz ljubezni zrasteš«, avtorice Eve Opsenice, ki bo izdana v samozaložbi. Za knjigo poezij smo izdelali tudi ilustracije, jih obdelali in primerno vstavili k vsebini, glede na njeno interpretacijo. Knjiga poezij bo tiskana v več izvodih, pri čemer bo poskrbljeno za celotno grafično pripravo, pravilno izbiro barvnega profila, prelom strani in posebnosti, kot so vezava ter platnice, ki jih je pri tisku potrebno upoštevati.

• Title: Graphic prepress of a poetry book

Abstract

The purpose of the diploma thesis was to design and create a propper prepress format for the poetry book. In the theoretical part, we've explored the history of poetry books that were printed before and in the 21st century. Selected poetry books, which were important for society at the time they were first printed, were furthermore explored and were described in chronological order. We were interested on how poetry books in Slovenia and in world, visually differ in terms of prepress and design. In the experimental part, we've selected poetry books, which were thus described in the theoretical part and compared them among eacother in order to determine the significance of individual elements through market analysis. We compared the first reprints of selected poetry books. The comparison was divided into two parts. The first part was devoted to the analysis of the covers and the second part to the interiors of the poetry book. In each set of selected works we've compared: the number of pages, type of binding, visual design and elements of covers (use of colours and font style), format, images and the language, which the book was written in. Another method of analysis used in the thesis was an online survey. For the survey, we've created several poetry book cover designs and interior layouts. A survey was also divided into two parts (evaluation of the created cover designs and interior layouts of the poetry book). The designs were made in order to get help from the target group of respondents in creating a visual identity of the poetry book, whish was also the goal of the diploma thesis. We've designed and produced a graphic prepress procedure for the poetry book entitled »Iz ljubezni zrasteš« (angl. »From love you grow«), by Eva Opsenica, which will be self-published. We've also created illustrations for the poetry book, processed them and inserted them appropriately to the content, depending on its interpretation. The poetry book will be printed in several copies, whereby the entire graphic prepress procedure, the selection of propper colour profile, page breaks and special features such as binding and type of cover, which define the book, will be taken care of.
