In this work, the udder morphology of 129 improved Bovec sheep was recorded. The experiment was conducted in a flock of lactating ewes from April to October. We measured udder depth and assessed teat position and udder type at the beginning, middle and the end of lactation. The influence of udder type, teat position and udder depth on lactation milk yield, daily milk yield of ewes and the composition of ewe milk was investigated. We found that udder type III was the most common in the flock. We also found that ewes with udder type III also had the highest lactation milk yield. The highest daily milk yield was observed in ewes with a very deep (depth: 18 – 23.5 cm) udder. Udder type had a statistically significant effect on lactation milk yield (P
