Abstract

Title:Legal challenges of women's integration into the labour market in Turkey
Abstract:
The research challenge was mainly to research and analyze the reasons for the low participation of women in the labor market in Turkey. Turkey has undergone significant structural and social changes that are expected to make it easier for women to enter the labor market. Despite all these factors, the participation of women in the labor market in Turkey is still low by international standards. Using secondary sources, mainly foreign literature, scientific and professional articles, and international and Turkish legal sources, we examined the proposals of the European Parliament Resolution on the 2012 Perspective for Women for Turkey. In particular, how Turkey has implemented them from a legal point of view, in what way and what are the results. Through critical analysis and amendments that would make it easier for women in Turkey to enter the labor market, taking into account the principle of equality, we made proposals that allow a different regulation of legislation and the implementation of laws in practice, to reduce the gap in labor market participation between women and men. and among women according to education, personal status and the regions in which they live. While Turkey was noted to be following the recommendations of the 2012 resolution, it should, in particular, improve the enforcement of legislation relating to workers' rights under labor rights. Likewise, the employment of women should be encouraged by strengthening appropriate work-life balance policies. The contribution of the master's thesis enables the profession to get acquainted with the analysis of the situation in Turkey, where the current legislation and its implementation are in the forefront, and it is of great benefit to legal policy makers in Turkey.
