Abstract
Prispevek obravnava značilnosti slovenskih in litovskih množinskih samostalnikov (t. i. pluralia tantum). Ugotavljamo, kateri samostalniki, ki so v slovenski slovnici pogosto obravnavani kot množinski, v to skupino ne sodijo. Raba množinskih samostalnikov v obeh jezikih kaže na veliko podobnosti in na nekatere razlike. Slednje se nanašajo predvsem na litovska poimenovanja praznikov in obredov ter na rabo množinskih samostalnikov pri lastnih zemljepisnih imenih (imena jezer v litovščini).

Abstract:
The paper compares Slovene and Lithuanian nouns which have only plural forms - Pluralia tantum. The analysis illustrates which nouns that traditionally appear in the Slovene grammar as Pluralia tantum nouns do not actually belong there. The comparison of the Slovene and Lithuanian Pluralia tantum shows similarities (primarily in the structure of the words where the groups of concrete, material and proper Pluralia tantum nouns are distinguished), and also differences that are found mainly in Lithuanian concrete nouns, in the names of a number of holidays and ceremonies, as well as differences in proper nouns (the names of lakes that are Pluralia tantum nouns are found in Lithuanian, but not Slovene).
