This master's thesis presents standards and methods of testing to ensure electromagnetic compatibility in the car industry. I made comparative measurements of two different test methods to discover if one of them can be omitted in a pre-testing phase (using my findings). In this case, we could accelerate testing time and lower expenses of testing. At the beginning of the thesis, electromagnetic compatibility is presented – what is exactly and what are the electromagnetic interferences. This is followed by the international standards, which are used to test electromagnetic resistance of test samples, including what the sample emits to the environment. In detail I have focused on the following test methods; »Stripline« and »Radiated immunity«, considering these two (methods) my own choice for comparison of test samples. In thesis, all criteria for chamber preparation, calibration of the electric field, preparation of the test sample along with an imposed signal are described. I have presented my findings with graphs and then analysed them. Results show that responses on the three test lamps are very similar and comparable to each other.
