Abstract

Title:The influence of the hole making process on the embossing force
Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the influence of the hole making process on the force with which pins are embossed into the casting hole. The subject of analysis is the influence of using different combinations of emulsion types and concentrations when drilling, as well as different washing agents during washing. The theoretical framework of the thesis provides basic information with regard to quality and the drilling and washing processes. Thereafter the empirical research showcases the use of two emulsions from different manufacturers during hole drilling. Each emulsion was tested using three different concentration levels. Two different washing agents were used to wash the samples, having the same concentration level and being used in the same conditions. Pins were embossed into the samples by means of a pressure mechanical test, with the embossing force being observed the entire time. The average embossing force was measured for every combination of the emulsion type, its concentration level and the washing agent used. The results show which emulsion and washing agent combine for the highest embossing force.
