Razvoj računalniškega orodja za elektromagnetno analizo sinhronskih motorjev s trajnimi magneti

V magistrskem delu je predstavljeno računalniško orodje za elektromagnetno analizo sinhronskih motorjev s trajnimi magneti. V ta namen je razvita programska koda, ki na podlagi vhodnih geometrijskih podatkov ustvari model sinhronskega motorja s trajnimi magneti in kasneje smiselno opravi analizo motorja ter obdela dobljene rezultate. Programska koda je razvita v programskem okolju MATLAB. Sestavljata ga dve glavni skripti, in sicer skripta z vhodnimi podatki, ki je uporabniku dosegljiva preko grafičnega vmesnika in skripta, ki je zadolžena za klicanje posameznih funkcij. Z uporabo objektnega programiranja lahko zaženemo in upravljamo s programskim okoljem ANSYS Maxwell, ki za numerično reševanje elektromagnetne problematike uporablja metodo končnih elementov (FEM). Razvito računalniško orodje je namenjeno izključno razvoju in načrtovanju sinhronskih motorjev s trajnimi magneti (Ang. PMSM). Zajete so vse osnovne izvedbe motorjev omenjene skupine kot so sinhronski motor z ugreznjenimi magneti (Ang. SPOKE), sinhronski motor s površinsko nameščenimi magneti (Ang. SPMSM), sinhronski motor s površinsko nameščenimi magneti v lečasti obliki (Ang. SLPMSM), sinhronski motor s površinsko vstavljenimi magneti (Ang. SIPMSM), sinhronski motor s potopljenimi magneti v I obliki »konfiguracija 1« (Ang. IPMSM type 1) ), sinhronski motor s potopljenimi magneti v I obliki »konfiguracija 2« (Ang. IPMSM type 2), sinhronski motor s potopljenimi magneti v V obliki »konfiguracija 1« (Ang. V-IPMSM type 1), sinhronski motor s potopljenimi magneti v V obliki »konfiguracija 2« (Ang. V-IPMSM type 2) in sinhronski motor s potopljenimi magneti v U obliki (Ang. U-IPMSM). Osrednji cilji razvitega računalniškega orodja so zmanjšati stroške razvoja, skrajšati razvojni čas PMSM strojev ter pridobiti čim verodostojnejše rezultate računalniških simulacij. Za validacijo rezultatov pridobljenih z računalniškim orodjem in lažje razumevanje programa je teorija dopolnjena z realnim primerom SPMSM, ki je uporabljen v aplikaciji servovolana. Na podlagi primerjave rezultatov računalniških simulacij in meritev na realnem stroju je uspešno opravljena validacija razvitega orodja. Dobro ujemanje je doseženo med merjenimi in izračunanimi vrednostmi navora, inducirane napetosti, upornosti navitja in induktivnosti. Nekoliko odstopajo navorne in izgubne vrednosti pri višjih vrtilnih hitrostih, saj model ne upošteva temperaturnih razlik, še posebej temperaturne odvisnosti lastnosti trajnih magnetov in ohmske upornosti. V kolikor bi se želeli še bolj približati vrednostim meritev, bi bila smotrna vpeljava termalnega modela in kasnejša dvosmerna sklopitev z elektromagnetnim modelom. Materialom motorja bi predpisali funkcijsko temperaturno odvisnost. Ko bi temperaturni prehodni pojav izzvenel, bi nam bile na voljo končne temperature posameznih gradnikov motorja, kakor tudi nove elektromagnetne lastnosti motorja, ki so temperaturno odvisne. Prav tako bi bilo smiselno pridobiti meritve posameznih izgub (npr. izgube v magnetih, izgube v železu, itd.) in prilagoditi simulacijske vrednosti.

• Title: Software for electromagnetic analysis of permanent-magnet synchronous motors

Abstract

The main objective of the developed software toll presented in this master thesis is to facilitate finite element method based modeling of different types of permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). The software code is written using the MATLAB programming environment. It consists of two main program scripts: 1. the script containing input data that is accessible to the user via graphic user interface (GUI), which is also developed in this master thesis and 2. a script that is in charge of calling the program functions. Using the object-oriented programming, we can automatically start and manage the ANSYS Maxwell software environment, which uses the finite element method (FEM) to solve electromagnetic problems. In the final stage the written MATLAB code performs the processing and analysis of the numerical simulation results obtained with ANSYS Maxwell and displays the main output characteristics of the PMSM motor. The developed software is intended for design and development of synchronous motors with permanent magnets of different rotor topologies such as: SPOKE, SPMSM, SLPMSM, SIPMSM, IPMSM type 1, IPMSM type 2, V-IPMSM type 1, V-IPMSM type 2 and U-IPMSM. In order to validate the FEM models created using the developed software tool the results obtained with numerical simulations have been compared to the results of the experimental measurements performed on an example of a real SPMSM motor which is used in a power steering application. The main objective of the newly developed software tool is to reduce the time and cost of the PMSM design and development and to obtain reliable simulation results. The comparison between the calculated results and measured data of the motor characteristics such as torque, induced voltage, ohmic resistance and inductance, showed a good agreement. However, it should be mentioned that the torque values slightly deviate at higher rotational speeds as the model does not take into account the thermal properties and the behavior of used material, especially the temperature dependence of permanent magnets and the ohmic resistance of the windings. For better results, the introduction of a thermal model and its coupling with a developed electromagnetic model would be necessary. The described measure would evaluate the influence of thermal properties on the electromagnetic properties of the motor. Last but not the least, it would also be necessary to obtain the measurements of individual losses (i.e. iron losses, magnet losses, etc.) to properly adjust the simulation values.
