Introduction: Childbirth pain is acute pain in the normal physiological process. Today, there are various options available to relieve labor pain. Many different of non-pharmacological methods of relieving labor pain. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to define labor pain, determine the origin and significance of labor pain, review ways to alleviate labor pain through history, present tools for measured labor pain and present methods of non-pharmacological methods of labor pain relief. Methods: In the first part of the diploma work, we used a descriptive methods of work, through which the author reviewed domestic and foreign literature. In the second part of the diploma work we used a qualitative metasynthesis of studies on non-pharmacological methods of labor relief. Scientific and professional articles found in the electronic databases Cochrane Library, CINAHL, MEDLINE and ScienceDirect. We included 9 researches in the analysis. Results: The results show that women from nonpharmacological methods of relieving labor pain most often use breathing techniques to divert attention, massage, water and change postures during childbirth. The results of the research also show that women who attended childbirth and prenatal classes and had appropriate support during childbirth experienced less labor pain. Discussion and conclusion: It is important to teach women about simple methods of relieving labor pain, to help them overcome the fears associated with it. Objective information should be included in the program of prenatal classes for childbirth and parenthood. The preparation, support and understanding of women by midwives before and during childbirth is also important.
