Abstract
Volilna geografija je veja politične geografije, ki proučuje prostorski vidik organizacije in izvedbe volitev ter volilnih rezultatov. V nalogi smo geografsko analizirali rezultate volitev članov Predsedstva Bosne in Hercegovine leta 2018. Predvsem nas je zanimalo kako volilni sistem in etnična struktura prebivalstva vplivata na volilno udeležbo, delež neveljavnih glasovnic in volilne rezultate. V prvem delu naloge smo na podlagi znanstvene literature predstavili različne poglede na vlogo volilnih sistemov v multietničnih družbah, kakršna je bosanskohercegovska. V nadaljevanju je na kratko predstavljena unikatna administrativno-teritorialne ureditve Bosne in Hercegovine in vloga Predsedstva v njej. V tretjem delu naloge smo s pomočjo kvantitativnih metod in kartografskih prikazov analizirali vpliv etnične strukture prebivalstva na volilno udeležbo, delež neveljavnih glasovnic in rezultate volitev. Bosna in Hercegovina ima zapleteno etnično strukturo prebivalstva s tremi konstitutivnimi narodi, kompleksen volilni sistem in razdrobljeno delitev oblasti, zaradi česar je proučevanje takega primera države še toliko bolj zanimivo.

Title:Analysis of the elections for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2018
Abstract:
The electoral geography is a branch of political geography that studies the spatial aspect of the organization and implementation of elections and elections results. In this paper we have geographically analyzed the results of the 2018 Bosnia and Herzegovina presidency election. Primarily, we were interested to identify the effects of the electoral system and ethnic composition of the population on the voter turnout, percentage of invalid ballots and the election outcome. In the first part of the paper, with the help of scientific literature, we have introduced different perspectives on the role of the electoral systems in multiethnic societies, such as the one in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, we have presented the unique administrative-territorial division of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Presidency role in it. In the third part of the paper we have utilized quantitative research methods and cartographic representations to analyze the influence of the ethnic composition of the population on the voter turnout, the percentage of invalid ballots and the election outcome. Bosnia and Herzegovina has a very complex ethnic composition of the population with three constituent peoples, an intricate electoral system and a divided government, hence researching a country like that is even more engaging.
