This master’s thesis concentrates on the Slovenian television series, based on Slovenian literary material. The theoretical part covers the media and intermediality, focusing on the television and its history; it introduces different aspects of television and structures of serial forms. In the second part of the thesis, the overview of the whole Slovenian television series “industry” is presented and those series that were based on literary materials were isolated and grouped into the corpus which is one of the main achievements of this thesis. The series chosen are analysed; the circumstances of their origins and that of the literary materials are presented, structural aspects of individual television series are discussed and compared to a literary material, according to the chronotope, the characters and the course of action.
