Abstract
Elementi in območja kulturne dediščine so odraz zgodovine določenega območja in so zato izjemen vir za razumevanje zgodovine, ljudi in prostora.

Title:Protection of settlement heritage in Slovenia - the case of Črna vas, Ljubljana : master thesis no: 33/II. PN
Abstract:
The master's thesis deals with the theme of protection of settlement heritage in the process of spatial planning. Cultural heritage, of which settlement heritage is a part, is an element of space and therefore it has must be included in the process of spatial development in the system of integrated conservation. Elements and areas of cultural heritage are a reflection of the history of a particular area and are therefore a great resource for understanding history, people and space. The example of settlement heritage in the settlement of Črna vas is a clear indicator of the specific construction on the marshy soil, as it is unfavourable and unstable. Under the pressure of ever-increasing urbanization, the traditional construction in the settlement of Črna vas began to disappear among the more modern buildings which do not take into account traditional characteristics to an adequate extent. At the same time, the ambient value began to be lost, as well as the wider landscape image of the settlement. Appropriate measures for directing development solution could contribute to the preservation of distinctive landscape and settlement features. In doing so, we should respect the principle of sustainable development, since we must plan the space holistically and preserve it for future generations.
