Abstract
Kontaminacijski detektor in merilnik hitrosti doze sta dandanes nepogrešljiv del opreme, ki se uporablja za detektiranje ionizirajočega sevanja. Omenjeni detektor in merilnik sta na voljo tudi osebju Klinike za nuklearno medicino Univerzitetnega kliničnega centra Ljubljana. Zaposleni se vsakodnevno izpostavljajo sevanju, zato je še toliko bolj potrebno zagotoviti pravilno delovanje le te. Zakonodaja narekuje letno preverjanje in testiranje merilnikov, a ne točne izvedbe programa zagotavljanja kakovosti kontaminacijskih detektorjev in merilnikov hitrosti doze. Po pregledu literature in mednarodnih priporočil smo z izvedenko medicinske fizike in inženirjem tehničnih strok sestavili plan zagotavljanja kakovosti prenosne opreme namenjene meritvam ionizirajočega sevanja. Ta vsebuje teste namenjene preverjanju konstantnosti ter linearnosti odziva kontaminacijskega detektorja in merilnika hitrosti doze. Uporabljeni so bili različni radioaktivni viri z različnimi aktivnostmi, ki smo jih določili po pregledu literature. S pomočjo testov smo ugotovili, da predpisanim priporočilom ne ustreza vsa merilna oprema, saj prihaja do velikih odstopanj. Prav tako smo ugotovili, da je potrebno preverjati tudi odziv merilnika na visoko hitrost doze, saj se na kliniki izvajajo diagnostični pregledi in terapije z visoko aktivnostjo radionuklidov.

Title:Quality Assurance of Contamination Monitors and Dose Rate Meters inNuclear Medicine
Abstract:
The contamination monitor and the dose rate meter are nowadays an indispensable part of the equipment used for the detection of ionizing radiation. The aforementioned monitor and meter are available for professional use at the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana. Employees are exposed to radiation on a daily basis, so it is all the necessary to ensure its proper functioning. The legislation dictates annual validation and testing of the monitors and meters, but not the exact implementation of the quality assurance programme for the contamination monitors and dose rate meters. After reviewing the literature and the international recommendations, we (a physics student, a medical physics expert and a technical engineer) drew up a plan to ensure the quality of portable equipment intended for the measurement of ionizing radiation. This includes tests designed to verify the constancy and linearity of the response of the contamination monitor and the dose rate meter. Multiple radioactive sources with diffrent activities were used, they were decided upon after reviewing the literature. With the help of the tests, we found that not all measuring equipment meets the prescribed recommendations, as there are significant deviations.
