Abstract
Takrat so druge države predstavljale pomorske velesile.

Title:
COMPARISON OF CONTAINER PORTS IN EUROPE AND CHINA
Abstract:
On almost every toy, T-shirt, ornament or other product we notice the tag "Made in China". Since businesses moved production to the Far East due to cheap labor, China has become an increasingly powerfull economic force. The same applies in the maritime market, as all production materials or finished products need to be imported and exported. This whole process however goes through ports, which are a common point of land and sea. The dissertation describes the fast-growing Chinese ports compared to the richly historic European ones. Prior to globalization and the free customs all trading with China was restricted. At that time other countries represented naval superpowers. To understand how things turned out like so I will be describing the very beginnings of containers, containerisation, and container logistics. Different types of ports also use different port equipment, which needs to be constantly updated and follow the trends of massive ships. Equipment is also one of the most important factors when the shipowner is choosing a port. I have mentioned also other factors that the shipowner pays attention to and which lead to discrepancies between European and Chinese ports. There are a lot of differences in ports due to differences in construction, equipment, management, location, positioning and price. The crisis of 2008 and Covid-19 also has a different effect on individual areas of the world. The result is greater or lower cargo, profit and port popularity with shipowners. Therefore every single port will do what it can to stay in business of the biggest and best.
