Abstract
Plazovom sem določila lokacijo in zabeležila njihove lastnosti.

Title:Analysis of landslides in Hmeljčič area near Mirna Peč, SE Slovenia
Abstract:
Landslides are a natural phenomenon that often causes great damage to people and their property. Landslides are affected by many different factors, such as the rock base, the slope, heavy rainfall and human landscaping. Most of the triggers of landslides cannot be predicted and limited, but they can be reduced by protective measures and smart land use planning. In my diploma thesis I described 15 landslides in the surroundings of Hmeljčič in the municipality of Mirna Peč, near my place of residence, within the framework of an engineering-geological mapping. I localized the landslides, recorded their data and then analyzed the received data. The landslides formed on the weathered Cretaceous rocks in a predominantly clastic development on the steep slopes of the south-western hillsides. Most of the landslides are of smaller size and are in a stable or rehabilitated condition and do not cause major damage. However some of them reach larger dimentions and cause damage to nearby infrastructure. Landslides are usually caused by a combination of natural and human factors. I have come to the conclusion that landslides in this area are not a major threat to the inhabitants of the surrounding towns. When I compare the levels of threat to this area with that in other parts of Slovenia, I find that landslides in the area under investigation do not pose a great danger to people and so they quickly forget that they live in an area at risk of landslides.
