Abstract
V diplomski nalogi je predstavljeno opazovanje mestnega toplotnega otoka na primeru osmih največjih (po površini) slovenskih mest: Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, Kranj, Koper, Velenje, Novo mesto in Ptuj. Mesta so obravnavana v časovni vrsti od leta 1986 do leta 2018. Opisano je določanje temperature omenjenih mest na podlagi satelitskih posnetkov Landsat. Izračunana sta SUHI (površinski mestni toplotni otok) in UHeatEx (kazalnik izpostavljenosti mestni toploti, ki upošteva fizikalne procese za nastanek mestnega toplotnega otoka). Rezultati naloge so pokazali, da je v Sloveniji prisoten pojav urbanega toplotnega otoka tako v velikih kot manjših mestih. Občine bi lahko rezultate uporabile pri načrtovanju ozelenjevanja mest in usmerjanju poselitve, s ciljem zmanjševanja pojava mestnega toplotnega otoka.

Title:Observation of Urban Heat Island : graduation thesis
Abstract:
The diploma thesis presents the observation of the city heat island on the example of the eight largest (by area) Slovenian cities: Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, Kranj, Koper, Velenje, Novo mesto and Ptuj. The cities are considered in the time series from 1986 to 2018. The determination of the temperature of the mentioned cities on the basis of Landsat satellite images is described. SUHI (surface urban heat island) and UHeatEx (urban heat exposure indicator, which takes into account the physical processes for the formation of the urban heat island) were calculated. The results of the task showed that the phenomenon of urban heat island is present in Slovenia in both large and small cities. Municipalities could use the results in urban planning and settlement management, with the aim of reducing the occurrence of urban heat island.
