Abstract
V nalogi smo izdelali računalniški model že izdelane kupljene ukulele, in naredili eksperimentalno modalno analizo. V nadaljevanju smo prilagajali mehanske lastnosti materiala računalniškega modela, dokler nismo dosegli zadovoljivega ujemanja izračunanih lastnih frekvenc z izmerjenimi.

Title:
Acoustic properties of ukuleles
Abstract:
For this thesis, an exact 3D computer-aided model of a bought and already-built ukulele has been constructed, and an experimental modal analysis was then performed on this. The geometry, based on the measured dimensions, was made in SolidWorks. The defined geometry was imported into Ansys, where a modal analysis, based on the finite element method, was executed. The mechanical properties of the wood used to build the ukulele were unknown, and therefore for the initial calculations mechanical properties found in literature were used. An experimental modal analysis of the ukulele was also performed, where the eigenfrequencies of the upper and lower plates were measured. Afterwards the mechanical properties were adjusted to the point where the calculated eigenfrequencies were comparable to the measured ones. It was concluded, based on the built model, that even without knowing the exact mechanical properties of the wood used to build the ukulele a model with the proper accuracy can be made.
