Abstract
Digitalizacija celotnega gospodarstva bo v prihodnosti, v namen zadostitve potrebam človeštva in prilagoditve spreminjajočim se razmeram, neizbežna. Skupna kmetijska politika že vrsto let podpira razvoj in uporabo inovacij.

Title:Intelligent decision support systems in agriculture
Abstract:
The digitalization of the entire economy will be inevitable in the future, in order to meet the needs of humanity while adapting to constantly evolving conditions. The Common agricultural policy has been supporting the development and application of innovation for many years. Making appropriate decisions based on the data collected is essential in the digitization process. Decision-making in agriculture is of particular importance because of its dynamics, as it depends on a number of variables that can be very unpredictable due to the impact of the environment. To process huge amounts of data produced by versatile use of smart technologies, decision support systems are essential to make recommendations with the proposed solution or advice, based on the collected data, models and requirements. Nevertheless, it is crucial that the final decision is still in the hands of the decision-maker, the farmer. This paper focuses on support systems for decision-making in agriculture within the general digitalization of agriculture, the concept of agriculture 4.0, precision agriculture and the plans of the current and future common agricultural policy. Moreover, the paper presents the background and operation of decision support systems in general and more in particular in agriculture. Finally, it proposes an overview of examples of application in the field of decision support systems in agriculture within spatial planning, irrigation, use and balance of fertilizers, plant protection products, general farm management and planning set for the future development of these tools, based on current user needs.
