Abstract
To so aktualni in sodobni problemi ljudi, katerih stiska, brezizhodnost, strah, osamljenost in obup so pogosto spregledani.

Title:Socially critical subject in the dramatic and theatrical work of Žiga Divjak
Abstract:
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the socially critical subject present in the dramatic and theatrical work of the director and play wright Žiga Divjak. Presented in the first part of the thesis is the author and his theatrical work, followed by the analysis of the following dramatic texts: The Person Who Watched The World, 6, The Bailiff Yerney and His Right and Seven Days. The thesis is centred around the socially critical subject which is a common trait of all the analysed dramatic texts and their performances. This includes the relevant and contemporary issues people deal with, of which distress, lack of hope, loneliness and desperation are often neglected. The socially critical subjects that are presented in the thesis are the following: the social and working distress of refugees employed as precarious workers, the faith of refugees together with the intolerance of Slovenes towards them, the life of those living in the third world in comparison to the more comfortable life of the people living in the West, the influence of capitalism, the dictatorship in the third world countries together with the stories of the common folk describing the ways they face life on a daily basis. In addition, the thesis compares and analyses the performances including their critiques.
