Abstract
Analizirali in predstavili smo več variant prenove (gradbeniški ukrepi, strojniški ukrepi in kombinacija obeh).

Title:Renovation of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana in order to achieve optimal indoor environmental quality and minimal building energy use : graduation thesis
Abstract:
In our diploma thesis focuses on the building of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. The purpose of our thesis was to analyse the existing condition of the building in terms of the indoor environmental quality and energy use. We determined the required and recommended values of the parameters. We determined the required and recommended values of the parameters of indoor environmental quality and presented how the deviations are reflected in the possible negative impact of the environment on human health and comfort. With the help of a questionnaire on the quality of the internal environment, we obtained the opinions of users and thus the information on the current situation. To calculate the construction and physical parameters of the selected structural assemblies we used the KI energija 2017 program, in which we also calculated energy use. The results of the calculation, which were discussed in more detail, are the thermal conductivity of individual structural assemblies, condensation on their surface or in the structure, the surface temperature factor, the coefficient of specific transmission losses of the whole building, the annual energy use for heating and the specific annual energy use for cooling. We presented the results and compared them with other already existing calculations to check the accuracy of these. We analysed and presented several renovation variants (civil engineering measures, mechanical engineering measures, and a combination of both). We searched for all legislation in the field of buildings for education and scientific research (energy use, building physics and a quality of internal environment) and checked the extent to which we meet the conditions with the given renovation variants. According to the analysis of renovations, we highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of each of the variants, and chose the most optimal one. For this, a variant with a combination of civil engineering and mechanical engineering measures proved to be appropriate, where we chose additional thermal insulation and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Such a renovation significantly reduces the need for thermal energy, and at the same time the air quality, from the point of view of ventilation, is the best, taking into account the ongoing cleaning and maintenance of the system and the optimal amounts of fresh air. The goal of the comprehensive renovation was to achieve optimal efficiency of the building and mechanical systems, which is reflected in healthy and comfortable conditions for users.
