Abstract
Preučevali smo tekoče kristale znotraj majhnih votlin v obliki kocke z dimenzijami nekaj mikrometrov. Motivacija za to področje raziskav je možnosti izdelave zaslonov, ki za prikaz slike ne potrebujejo električnega napajanja. Testirali smo kakšna je temperaturna odvisnot nematskega direktorskega polja znotraj navedenih votlin in analizirali kaj se zgodi, če jih izpostavimo električnemu polju. S teoretičnimi izračuni smo napovedal obliko metastabilnih stanj (polje direktorja) in jih opredeliti v različne družine glede na njihove značilnosti.

Title:Multistable orientation structure of nematic liquid crystal in wells with square cross section
Abstract:
A liquid crystal inside small cubic regions with dimensions of some micrometers were dealt with. This area gained a lot of interest because of its potential for LCDs, that doesn't need electrical field to show a picture. Their response to applied electric field and their dependence on temperature were tested and examined. With theoretical calculations we predict several stable states and define them by their characteristics.
