The thesis initially describes the Holocaust and concentration camp Auschwitz in stages. The central part compares the presentation of concentration camps, testimonies and historical facts. I compared the Polish film Ostatni etap, the Italian La Vita e Bella, and the American Schindler’s List. The comparative part is divided into three subchapters: journey and arrival, accommodation nd liberation. The last chapter discusses the possibility of depicting the Holocaust on film and the power of film in shaping individual perception and collective awareness of camps.
