Abstract
Trpinčenje na delovnem mestu je pojem, ki izvira iz sodobnega časa, vendar njegove korenine segajo daleč v preteklost. O samem pojmu se je začelo govoriti v 90-ih letih prejšnjega stoletja, danes pa se ozaveščanje o problemu trpinčenja na delovnem mestu veča. Vzroki za pojav trpinčenja na delovnem mestu so lahko različni, vedno pa je predpogoj za nastanek le-tega konflikt. To dlje časa trajajoče se sovražno dogajanje proti posamezniku prinaša posledice tako za žrtve kot tudi za opazovalce in samo organizacijo. V magistrski nalogi me je zanimalo, kakšno je stanje v Sloveniji glede trpinčenja na delovnem mestu v zadnjih petnajstih letih in ali ima starost pri trpinčenju na delovnem mestu pomembno vlogo. Želela sem ugotoviti, ali obstajajo razlike med mlajšimi in starejšimi v samem dojemanju pojma trpinčenja, kdo je trpinčenju bolj izpostavljen in kdo ga pogosteje povzroča, kakšne posledice le-ta prinaša za mlajše in kakšne za starejše, komu se žrtve trpinčenja najprej zaupajo in ali obstajajo razlike glede na starost pri prijavah trpinčenja. Raziskovalni del naloge tako temelji na analizi treh slovenskih javnomnenjskih raziskav in analizi lastnega raziskovalnega dela, s pomočjo katerega sem ugotovila razlike in podobnosti v dojemanju trpinčenja na delovnem mestu med mlajšimi in starejšimi.

Title:Age and mobbing in the workplace
Abstract:
Mobbing in the workplace may be a modern concept, but it origins in the distant past. The concept was first mentioned in the 1990s and today the awareness of the problem that is mobbing in the workplace is spreading. There are various causes for mobbing in the workplace, yet only one prerequisite for its emergence, and that is a conflict. This long lasting hostile attitude towards an individual brings consequences for the victims, the observers and for the company itself. This master thesis focuses on mobbing in the workplace in Slovenia in the last fifteen years and whether ageing plays an important role in the perception of the mobbing in the workplace. I wanted to explore the difference in perception of mobbing in the workplace between younger and older people, who is more exposed to it, who is usually the perpetrator, which are the consequences of mobbing in the workplace for the younger and older people, who do the victims usually confide in first, and whether there exists a statistic difference in reports of mobbing in the workplace between younger and older people. Empirical part of the master thesis is based on the analysis of three public opinion studies in Slovenia and the analysis of my own research work, which helped me explore differences and similarities between younger and older people’s perception of the notion that is mobbing in the workplace.
