Diplomsko delo raziskuje uporabo narodno-ljudske motivike v umetnosti sovjetskega obdobja. Velik poudarek je namenjen gibanju socrealizma in umetnosti stalinističnega obdobja. Namen raziskave je najti izraze nacionalne identitete, etničnosti in ljudske simbolike v umetniškem izražanju socialističnega obdobja. Osredotočam se na fenomen sovjetskega mozaika kot objekta kulturne dediščine in samostojnega umetniškega dela.
Motiv sovjetskega mozaika je temelj za serijo slik, ki jih ustvarjam za diplomsko delo. Prek lastne slike predstavljam idejo nacionalne identitete v socialističnih okoliščinah. Cilj diplomskega dela je iskanje načina umestitve objekta kulturne dediščine in umetniške vrednosti v sodobnosti.

The theme of the diploma’s research is based on the use of traditional folk motives in the art of soviet era. The emphasis is on the socialist realism movement and the art of Stalinism period. The aim of the research is to point out the expression of national identity, ethnicity and folk symbolism in the art expression of the socialistic era. The focus is made on the phenomenon of soviet mosaic which is perceived as an object of a cultural heritage and an independent work of art.
The motif of soviet mosaic is the basis of my painting created as a part of my research. The idea of national identity in socialist circumstances is presented through my paintings. The aim of the diploma is finding a way to implement cultural heritage in artistic value into the present.
