The Master thesis describes the Ajdovec hospital and it`s surgeon dr. Lindsay Rogers. It is based mainly on unpublished archival sources, which are supplemented with memorial sources. The Ajdovec hospital was one of the hidden outposts of the Slovenian Central Military Partisan Hospital (SCVPB) operating in Kočevski Rog. The outpost was led by allied surgeon doctor Lindsay Rogers from New Zeland. He also worked in some other partisan hospitals in Kočevski Rog, where he mainly performed surgeries. The Ajdovec hospital consisted of a few wooden huts and it was operating between August 1944 and the beginning of March 1945. The hospital treated around 171 pacients, 13 of whom died. They were burried at the hospital`s cemetery nearby. After World War II, a memorial was erected in their memory at Pogorelec. The Ajdovec hospital also had a hidden dislocated unit named Mali Ajdovec with a few objects; it was intended for severely wounded persons. The facilities of both hospitals have not been preserved, but their original locations are known and some modest remains are still visible there.
