Abstract
Svetovno pomanjkanje vode predstavlja velik izziv sodobni družbi. Potencialen vir vode predstavlja ponovna uporaba odpadne vode, vendar jo moramo pred uporabo prečistiti.

Title:Application of photocatalyst TiO2 to millimetre-sized granules
Abstract:
The global water shortage is a challenge for modern society. Wastewater could be used as a potential source of water, but it must be properly treated before it can be used. Due to the persistence of some pollutants, advanced oxidation processes may be used in parallel with conventional water treatment processes. The aim of this work was to test one of the advanced oxidation processes - semiconductor photocatalysis. I synthesised three types of solutions with titania nanoparticles to coat millimetre-sized granules and test their photocatalytic activity. I also tested the process of thermal treatment of the granules with the coating. The influence of oxygen purging during the photocatalytic measurements was also tested.
