The final thesis presents the course of development of a steel pillar, which is intended for attachment of displays in multiple sizes. We have described the most common types of sheet metal assemblies and most common sheet metal protection methods. Following the guidelines of the design methodology, we have identified the needs of the client, in ours case the company Papercast, product specifications, functional structure and morphological matrix. We have calculated the dimensions od the anchor bolts which are needed for stability of the construction. We have described the 3 most suitable design concepts and evaluated them according to technical and economical criteria, where the best one was created in the Siemens NX program and was further detailed. We have made a component drawing of the entire pillar and a workshop drawing of the welded components. At the end we made a structural analysis and a description of potential improvements.
