Because of economy crisis, health conditions, low payments, debts, families often end up in social distress. Net help for families in distress contains official system of social security, but often help which families get in social work centers (social support, child benefits) is not enough. Beside governmental help, net help includes also non-governmental organizations, that play increasingly more important role. During assignment I wanted to research net of connectedness between governmental and non-governmental organizations in their vision of entire net help. I was wondering how good is this net in the eyes of those who daily help families in distress and what are the biggest imperfections of net. I wanted to make sure that families have formal forms of help and experts at which they can find support. In first part of assignment I introduce family and social distress, social networks, social and family politics, role of social work, social work centers and non-governmental organizations in net help for families in distress. In second, empirical part, I introduce methodology and results of qualitative research, which was done with professional workers of organizations from net help for families in distress. Measuring tool, used in my research, was a questionnaire and method was interview. I discovered that help in common principle for organizations in net help and that most of nethelp users are long-time users. They are some exceptions in unexpected conditions like deaths or nature disasters. Governmental and non-governmental organizations accept everyone and try to help them or at least direct them to place where they can get help. Most of the families are well informed about help net but there are also families that are poorly informed. Net help is, in general, looking good, covers a lot of families and has quality legislation. Its biggest weakness is lack of connectedness, especially between non-governmental organizations and social work centers. Because of that I see higher level of connectedness as one of the most important prepositions for improving the net help. Social distress causes social stigma which is felt also by expert workers, who try to fight against stigma with empowerment of families. My preposition is to inform public more about social distress, so they will be able to understand it and also not to expose families in social distress. Minimum wage is one of the most common reasons for social distress, so I think it would be good for families with minimum wage to transform cenzus and allow them more subsidies. Another important preposition is social activation of families to prove themselves they can do it and that there is no need for them to stay in the circle of poverty.
