Abstract
V nalogi sem raziskala zaznano kompetentnost študentov četrtega letnika Fakultete za socialno delo za delo s travmo, njihovo znanje o travmi in mesto izobraževanja o travmi znotraj socialnega dela. Primerjala sem mnenja študentov modula Psihosocialna podpora in pomoč, ki so imeli en predmet na temo travme, ter študentov drugih modulov, ki predmeta niso poslušali. V prvem delu naloge opredelim kompetence pridobljene s programom prve stopnje Fakultete za socialno delo, konceptualiziram travmo ter predstavim odziv nanjo. Travmo nadalje umestim v socialno delo, kjer se posvetim pomembnosti razumevanja travme za socialne delavke ter predstavim TIC pristop, ki temelji na razumevanju travme ter ga povežem s socialnim delom. V drugem, empiričnem delu naloge sem s kvalitativno raziskavo prišla do ugotovitev, da se študentje ne počutijo kompetentne za ravnanje s travmo, kar je posledica primanjkovanja znanja o travmi. Menijo, da travma je ključen del socialnega dela in je znanja o delu z njo potrebno pridobiti že na fakulteti. Na koncu iz pridobljenih rezultatov podam predloge Fakulteti za socialno delo o spremembah glede naslavljanja te pomembne tematike.

Title:Competence of fourth year students of social work for working with trauma
Abstract:
In the following thesis I research the recognized capability of fourth year students of Faculty of Social Work for working with trauma, their knowledge of trauma and the position of their education within social work. I compare opinions of students who studied within the module called Psychosocial support and help and had taken one subject on the topic of trauma with students of other modules, who did not listen to the subject. In the first part of the diploma thesis, I identify the student’s competence acquired within the program of the 1st level of the Faculty of Social Work, conceptualize trauma and present the response to trauma. Furthermore, I position trauma within social work, where I focus on the importance of understanding trauma by the Social Workers and present an approach called TIC, which is based on the understanding of trauma in connection with social work. In the second, empirical, part, based on the qualitative research I came to conclusion, that students do not feel competent working with trauma, due to lack of education about it. The student’s opinion is that trauma is a key part of social work and the education required to work with trauma needs to be acquired at the faculty. Based on the gained results I present suggestions to the Faculty of Social Work on changes regarding this important topic.
