Abstract

Title:3D Laser Scanning of the Mayor's Cave : master thesis
Abstract:
Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) was proven to be an effective method for capturing spatial data in a sensitive and complex environment such as caves. We chose the Mayor's Cave for the considered area, where we determined the control points with the help of classical measurements with a tachymeter. Based on them, we introduced the point cloud obtained with TLS into the national coordinate system. This made it possible to compare it with the LIDAR aerial survey of Slovenia. As part of the master's thesis, we made longitudinal and transverse profiles and calculated the volume of individual chambers of the cave. Finally, we made a 3D visual representation of a part of the cave, which can be used for education or tourist purposes.
