The thesis deals with the development of impact protection for the safety chamber of a pneumatic cannon. The impact protection must withstand the impact of projectile, which is a hard, steel ball from a ball bearing, without penetration. The speed of the bullet is up to 300 m/s. In this thesis a development of the solution is presented from the initial research, the selection of a cost-effective and technically suitable solution, numerical simulations in the LS-DYNA software, construction of protective plates and the preparation of technical documentation. The conclusion is that the most suitable solution is to make protective plates by method of gluing several thinner sheets of structural steel.
