Abstract

Title:
Drilling load analysis
Abstract:
Drilling is a very used cutting process. In this process it is necessary to correctly set up the parameters, for the most efficient operation. The most important are tool feed and spindle speed. When reducing feed on the machine, during the drilling, an additional load occurs due to the tool sliding on the workpiece, which cause heating up tool even more. The maximum load jump, when drilling with HSCO drills, occurs at approximately 70% of initial feed, at the recommended parameters by manufacturer.
