In my master's thesis I focus on the former 41st regional headquarters of the Territorial Defence (RHQTD) Cerknica, which covered the area of today's municipalities of Bloke, Cerknica, Pivka, Postojna and Ilirska Bistrica. At the outset, I follow the development of the armed forces in the SFRY, that is, the YPA's central combat force and the formation of the SRS TD. In 1972, a Zone Headquarters for Littoral region was established in Inner Carniola, with headquarters in Postojna. The Republican General Public Defense Act and the Social Self-Defense, Security and Home Affairs Act, passed in 1976, have made many changes. Among other things, the Provincial Headquarters for Inner Carniola is being formed in the Inner Carniola region and the municipal headquarters of the TD for Cerknica, Postojna and Ilirska Bistrica are being established. Such arrangements remained until 1990, when the before mentioned staffs came under the then disarmament order and the National Defense Maneuver Structure was created. All this culminates in October 1991 with the creation of TD RS. In 1991, it was followed by a reorganization to form the 4th Provincial Headquarters of TD Postojna. In the reorganization of the municipal headquarters in the area, this is complicated in the war in Inner Carniola, as the region is not organized. Namely, the 41st Regional Headquarters did not have a perfect composition and could not form without commanders. It is not until June 26 that they form the name of leadership, which, during the war, performs all its tasks and is finally formed on July 11, 1991.
In the last part, I covered most of what happened through Independence war in Inner Carniola region. Nevertheless, three major events stand out during this time, the departure of the tanks from the barracks in Pivka and Ilirska Bistrica known as "Day before", the battle at Koseze and the death of Stanislav Požar in Pivka. There were many small provocations and challenges, which continued in the post-war period. Thus, during the war, in addition to war events, we can also follow the course of the final organization of the 41st RHQTD Cerknica area. I concluded the work with the departure of the YPA from Inner Carniola and the last victim.
